Why do you pay $2.50 in a restaurant
or a Quick Trip Stop, and $1.00 for a similar can of pop, when you can buy it from a vending machine? The answer is obvious.

milk and cold drinks all come to mind when one makes a mental census of coin-op merchandise. While these are among the biggest
lines in terms of sales and dollar volume, there is almost no type of goods that cannot be found in these ubiquitous machines.
Obviously, those dimes, nickels and quarters, if stacked up for 24 hours, would make a giant mountain. Over months
time the take runs into billions and billions of dollars.

Lou Kershbaumer has announced his retirement from Federal Machine Corp. after more that 28 years.
A statement from
the company commended his role in making the company a dominant force in the vending industry. It
noted that every head
of the company’s six sales organizations has served under Kershbaumer in either a distributorship or employment capacity.

Hazleton, PA native Louis
A. Kershbaumer has retired after serving 28 years at president of Federal Machine Corp., Des Moines, IA.
Under his
leadership, the firm became a dominant force
in the vending industry and remains so today. Every current
administrator,
of the firm’s six sales organizations first served under Kershbaumer in either a distributorship or as an employee.
One of his policies was to nurture and develop the skills of employees of the organization with leadership potential.
Kershbaumer was educated in the Hazelton School District.
He is a son of the late Peter and Rose Kershbaumer. A
Sister, Dr. Rose, is a SCMM and a Prof. at Penn Univ. Nursing while his brother Virgil still resides in Hazelton. Although
retired from his position, he will continue his career in marketing.
